It is a holiday weekend. I believe the spammers knew this and took advantage of it. They knew it would likely be sometime next week before their spam would be removed.

From what I scanned and reported, it was just one person. You have to wonder how their ilk ever dreams of prospering from the pathetic drivel they heap on us. But I can't imagine hoping to sustain forums like these, without making at least one staff member available at all times to make sure that prospectively thousands of people weren't forced to negotiate the drivel. Lacking that, a suspension scheme could well serve the purpose. But do one or the other.
