A Chinook has two thrusters to move it sideways..
But for a drone it should be something more simpler and. Cheaper

Are the motors fixed? IF they could tilt, then maybe sideways travel would be possible.
It could also have aerodynamic surfaces that articulate to provide sideways thrust. Placed into the prop down wash.
tilt mechanism will make the system more complicated. we need to come up with something new.
Ok. That makes sense. Maybe use the Coanda effect? Have a lifting body with one prop to draw air across the surface and then thrust downward while the other prop could provide propulsion?

I was just trying to think of other ways to approach the design of a two rotor drone.
Using the Coanda effect for lift, would allow the second rotor to be used for propulsion.

Another two rotor design I have seen uses two counter rotating but coaxial rotors.

we can achieve forward and backward motion by varying the speed of the two rotors.
the rotors arrangement will be like chinook helicopters. if the rear rotor rotates and speed slightly higher than the front the drone will move in forward direction and viceversa
the real challenge is lateral move, i.e, changing directions in left and right.

how about a coaxial blade positioning system in which one blade is positioned in the bottom and another in the top driven by seperate motors. The bottom blade is fixed and generates thrust exclusively. The motor is mounted rigidly on a plate that can incline through small angles to generate forward, backward and side force components which will permit directional control.
take off, landing and hover: both motor axis are coaxial
forward flight: top motor inclined forward
backward flight: top motor inclined rearwards
side flight: top motor inclined either rightwards or leftwards depending on the desired direction of side flight.

i might be a good idea to experiment with a weight shifting steering system. only a mechanical lever and a small weight heavy enough to tilt the drone but light enough to not bring it down. in addition the speed of the drone would slow but it would make it easier to control as it wouldn't jerk to the side randomly.
One option is to pitch or mechanically twist the body allowing the rotors oppose each other that will cause reactive vectoring. Just saying
For a sideways moment we can create a swash plate mechanism.one end connecting to servo and the other end to propeller hub.By tilting the propeller we can create side moment.
Both prop tilt right - moment will be to rt
Both prop tilt left - moment will be to lft
Front prop tilt right - moment will be to rotate right in Horizontal plane
front prop tilt left - moment created will be to rotate left in horizontal plane
